Sporting Schools

Overview

Sporting Schools offers grant opportunities for primary schools, and targeted grant opportunities for secondary schools in relation to year 7 and 8 students. Grants support the delivery of sport-based programs to help students build the confidence and capability to be active for life. Sport Australia has partnered with more than 35 national sporting organisations (NSOs) to facilitate delivery of Sporting Schools programs.


The objectives of Sporting Schools are to:

  • improve children’s fundamental movement skills to encourage lifelong participation in physical activity
  • increase the awareness of the value of sport in schools
  • engage children in high quality sporting programs
  • connect children with sport in their local communities
  • develop the capability and capacity of sport to drive nationwide participation growth

Term 1, 2023
8am AEDT Monday 7 November, 2022 – 5pm AEDT Friday 18 November, 2022

Term 2, 2023
8am AEDT Monday 27 February, 2023 – 5pm AEDT Friday 10 March, 2023

Term 3, 2023
8am AEST Monday 22 May, 2023 – 5pm AEST Friday 2 June, 2023

Term 4, 2023
8am AEST Monday 14 August, 2023 – 5pm AEST Friday 25 August, 2023


About Sporting Schools Funding

Bluearth’s Active Schools Program is a proud partner of Sporting Schools.

Bluearth Coaches are registered with the Sporting Schools Program via Baseball Australia and Lacrosse Australia. Funding is available when you select Baseball or Lacrosse and indicate that Bluearth is your preferred baseball or lacrosse coach provider.

Baseball and lacrosse delivered though Sporting Schools is a fantastic way for you and your school to experience the Bluearth approach while exploring the fundamental skills and movements encompassed in Baseball or Lacrosse.


What to Expect

  • 5 full days of face to face coaching over 1 school term
  • 5 classes per day, coached alongside their regular teacher
  • 5 recorded sessions for distribution across the school
  • Teacher Professional Development and Accreditation
  • Working within school timetable
  • Teacher workshops
  • Whole school events
  • Web-based resources

How to Apply and Book Bluearth

To apply for the Sporting Schools initiative, follow these simple steps. Once you’ve done this, log into your account and request Bluearth as your preferred provider.
