• Employment – Coordinator Aboriginal Participation and Development – Northern Territory

    Bluearth Foundation is seeking a positive self-motivated individual to lead our Aboriginal programs in Northern Territory and Northern Western Australia and coordinate all other programs in the region.

    Based in Alice Springs or Darwin a major part of the role will be the coordination and delivery of school readiness and parental engagement program in Alice Springs, Darwin and the East Kimberley.

    This is a hands-on role that requires someone with experience and proven success in working with Aboriginal communities. The role involves both direct delivery of Bluearth’s physical activity programs in schools and early childhood settings as well as leading the management of Bluearth’s relationships and delivery of program to improve Aboriginal health and wellbeing.

    • Full time 18-month appointment with possible extension
    • Starting November 2017
    • Salary $70,000-$75,000 + super + benefits including access to Salary Packaging
    Essential criteria
    • Experience in working with Aboriginal communities and/or significant cross cultural work experience
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including report and submission writing
    • Qualification and/or significant experience in Human Movement, Education, Health Promotion or equivalent
    • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including community organisations
    • Experience in program development and delivery with children.
    • Commitment to an active lifestyle
    • Ability to plan, manage and execute work load within agreed frames of reference
    • Able to work effectively remotely (alone) and as part of a team
    • Microsoft office skills
    • Driver’s license and vehicle
    • Understanding of the not for profit sector

  • Coach Support Volunteer

    Do you feel good when you’re moving? Would you like to share this with primary school students?

    This role is for an assistant coach who will work with the class teacher and a Bluearth coach as they deliver a specialized activity program. While no specific experience is required an inclusive perspective and motivation for being active is an advantage. You would be trained and act according to the needs of the class.

    We work in many locations and can create flexible positions around your weekly availability and ongoing service commitments. Volunteers are responsible to State Managers and have rewards such as celebratory functions and certificated appreciation records. A key benefit of this role is the satisfaction received in guiding student development and sharing their enjoyment.
