Breaking Down the Bluearth Approach

Here at Bluearth, we’re proud to do things differently and offer a unique approach to movement that makes a lasting impact on individuals and communities across Australia.

Below we break down our approach so you can understand what makes us, us and what sets us apart from traditional sporting programs.

We’re driven by process rather than outcome

The Bluearth approach uses purposeful physical activities in an experiential process that can engage every participant regardless of their abilities.

Participants are encouraged to come as they are and explore movement in ways they probably haven’t before, and to relish in the experience rather than striving to meet a specific ‘end’. It’s about enjoying the journey, instead of being focused on the destination.

Our goal is to deliver a program where inclusion and learning take place through pure experience, without consideration of an outcome such as winning or who is best and worst.

We promote physical literacy

Physical literacy is a disposition encompassing the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding to establish purposeful physical pursuits as an integral part of one’s lifestyle.

By facilitating and valuing each person’s unique experience, we develop “physical literacy” and personal motivations for lifelong active living, setting them on a path where they move well, well into the future.

We follow science’s lead

We employ a principle-based approach drawn from the sciences of kinesiology, psychology and philosophy of human behaviour, as well as time-honoured movement practices and contemporary physical training methods.

By basing our programs on scientific evidence, they have the power to actually make a difference and create a lasting impact on participants.

We’re intentional with our process
Our Process - Involving planning, acting and reflecting, this results in a cycle of engaged awareness.

We employ skillful means in an experiential process. Involving planning, acting and reflecting, this results in a cycle of engaged awareness.

We’re rooted in six key elements

The Bluearth approach is built around six key elements, which are proven to help children move confidently and competently, and improve their physical, social, and emotional wellbeing.

These include:

  • Coordination and agility
  • Skill activities
  • Movement challenges and games
  • Dynamic movement control
  • Moving in the environment
  • Core movement

Conclusion

Our purpose-built approach, which goes beyond traditional sport models, allows participants to experience the pure joy of movement. It has the power to make a lasting impact on individuals and instill in them a lifetime love of movement.
