BLUEARTH ALOCA PARTNERSHIP

Alcoa of Australia has partnered with the Bluearth Foundation to deliver the Bluearth Approach into 21 schools located around its Pinjarra and Wagerup alumina refineries in Western Australia.

Alcoa recognises the importance of education and the next generation, and connects with schools in a variety of ways. Alcoa's partnership with Bluearth fits underneath its "Connecting with Schools" program that provides support to a range of initiatives which expose children to quality learning programs. Alcoa has been a major corporate partner of Bluearth in Western Australia since 2008, providing sponsorship of the Approach to over 4,000 students and professional learning to over 100 teachers. This commitment ensures that families in the regions will know that their children are receiving high quality physical activity that will not only help develop healthy bodies, but also skills in teamwork, concentration, self-confidence and self-awareness.

"Alcoa's commitment to our work in the South Western region of Western Australia ensures that children in the area are becoming more physical active and also developing key learning which can be transferred back into the classroom. It is also providing the teachers in the region with professional development in delivering physical activity on an ongoing basis." Helen Berry, CEO of Bluearth said.

"This type of support ensures that we are developing healthy children and healthy communities. Alcoa has been investing back into Australian communities for years and we are proud to be one of their community partners. We truly appreciate Alcoa's support for these communities."
