2016 Highlights


  • Launched the Move More Sit Less health promotion campaign and reached over 35,000 people
  • Established a Move More Sit Less (MMSL) coalition with Australian Physiotherapy Association, IBISWorld and ISEAL (Institute of Sport, Exercise and Active Living) at Victoria University.
  • Received the ACT Children’s Week Award for the ‘Take Off’ program in partnership with YMCA.
  • Expanded our work supporting early childhood educators and parents.
  • Initiated our Reconciliation Action Plan and employed Indigenous staff to our programs in Darwin and the Kimberley.
  • Became a Supporter Member for TAFISA (The Association for International Sport for All) and presented at the TAFISA World Sport for All Games in Jakarta in October 2016.
  • Advocated for active living at a number of conferences throughout Australia and overseas including TAFISA, 3 international conferences, ACHPER, and workshops at Rural Health Alliance conference.
  • 3 fold increase in social media profile and engagement
  • Successfully ran Walktober event as a community fundraising event.
  • Successfully secured a VicHealth Innovation Award grant with Softball Victoria for a joint program into playgroups
  • Training youth workers in Kununurra, using physical activity to develop confidence and focus, in conjunction with Save the Children.
  • Strengthened our profile nationally, resulting in a number of philanthropic and corporate organisations inviting us to apply for partnership funding.
  • Delivered into 147 schools nationally, providing professional development to 735 teachers and positive movement sessions to 18,500 students
